The university introduced degree studies in biological sciences and required science labs. Some of the classrooms had to be converted to functional labs with all required services including fume hoods and preparation rooms. The design task was to ensure that the labs had functional spaces, resilient finishes while taking care of security and safety during usage and in case of emergency.
